J&D Fables: Mus et Milvus

Today's podcast is the audio for one of the fables in Jacobs & Doering's Latin Reader which you can find online at the Aesopus wiki). This fable makes a great contrast to the traditional story of the lion and the mouse! Look at how the mouse's good deed is rewarded in this story:
laqueis irretitus
musculum exoravit,
ut eum
corrosis plagis
Quo facto,
milvus liberatus
murem arripuit et devoravit.
Haec fabula ostendit
quam gratiam
pro beneficiis
reddere soleant.
Here is a photo by Roger N. Clark of a kite with a mouse!
